The East Turkistan National Awakening Movement (ETNAM) will be holding large rallies in Washington D.C. and across the world (in front of US Embassies / Consulates) in the coming week to condemn China’s occupation of East Turkistan and to re-assert our people’s desire to restore our independence. We will be calling upon the US government to support the people of Occupied East Turkistan in order to stop the 21st Century Holocaust of the Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples that the Chinese government is carrying out in Occupied East Turkistan.

On October 20, 1949, the newly established People’s Republic of China (Communist China) launched its invasion of East Turkistan after the East Turkistan Republic’s senior political and military leaders were executed in the Soviet Union at the order of Joseph Stalin for refusing to dissolve the East Turkistan Republic (November 12, 1944 – December 22, 1949) and join the People’s Republic of China. Two months following East Turkistan’s invasion by the Chinese Communists, on December 22, 1949, the East Turkistan National Army was incorporated in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) as it’s 5th Army Corps, officially dissolving the East Turkistan Republic and ending the independence of the Uyghur nation and the Turkic peoples of East Turkistan.

December 22, 1949 is marked as a day that altered East Turkistan’s history, a day that was the official beginning of over 69 years of occupation, colonization, and repression by the People’s Republic of China that continues to this day. ETNAM calls on the global East Turkistani – Uyghur diaspora, our friends, allies, and supporters to join us on December 20th, and the December 21st in condemning China’s occupation of East Turkistan and calling on the United States government and the international community to help the people of East Turkistan STOP China’s 21st century Holocaust by holding peaceful demonstrations in their respective countries.

Due to the fact that December 22th happens to be on a weekend, and the 21st happens to coincide with our ongoing weekly demonstration in front of the White House; we decided to hold the East Turkistan Solidarity March on Thursday, December 20th from 11 AM to 2PM. We will be rallying in front of the White House (Pennsylvania Avenue side) at 11 AM and march to the State Department at 12:30PM and end our peaceful demonstration at 2PM. On December 21st, 2018; our supporters in Germany and other parts of Europe will be holding a demonstration led by Mr. Murat Nasir in front of the US Consulate in Munich Germany.

*Various Muslim organizations across Indonesia will be demonstrating across Indonesia in support of the Uyghurs and in solidarity with East Turkistan.

In light of security concerns and the possibility of Chinese agents / provocateurs attempting to sabotage our peaceful gatherings, we are specifically requesting that all attendees refrain from wearing masks or face-coverings of any type at ETNAM’s events at the US State Department, US Embassies, & US Consulates. Participants who fail to adhere to this request will be asked to leave.

We again call upon the United States & all civilized nations to impose strong sanctions (including under the Global Magnitsky Act) against the officials responsible for these atrocities, including against members of the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Chinese Communist Party, and the state security & intelligence apparatuses, including upon Chen Quanguo (CPP Party Secretary for Occupied East Turkistan), upon Zhao Kezhi (Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China), & upon Chen Wenqing (Minister of State Security for the People’s Republic of China).

Furthermore, we call upon the United States & all civilized nations to recognize East Turkistan as a “captive nation,” acknowledging that these concentration camps are a brutal & inhumane means of depriving the people of Occupied East Turkistan of their Independence.

Lastly, we call upon all people, worldwide, to engage in a peaceful “information war” against Communist China by educating others about the human rights atrocities being perpetrated against Occupied East Turkistan’s oppressed people.
